About

Native perennial Monkey Flowers populate area open spaces. They belong in home gardens too! Member photo.

Mission: The Mission of Paradise Gardeners is to promote the love of gardening, civic and environmental responsibility in Southeastern San Diego.

History: We started as a 5-week garden class at a library in 2017. The more we met, the more we wanted to keep meeting to exchange information, learn from local experts, and beautify our yards and neighborhoods.

In 2019 we created the first California Garden Clubs, Inc. chapter serving southeastern San Diego.

We are a friendly, diverse group of plant enthusiasts who are passionate about bringing a positive influence to our community. All levels of gardening experience are welcome.

Please join us for our monthly meeting. We are a membership club, but membership is not required to attend our meetings.

Organization: As a nonprofit, we have a board of directors, and organizational bylaws. Here is our current board:

  • Co-President: Kim Laru
  • Co-President: Vivian Sanchez
  • Vice-President: Sheila Dine-Arthur
  • Secretary: Susan Sevier
  • Treasurer: Nancy Janssen
  • Director: N. Dian Moss
