Paradise Gardeners was fortunate to have a presentation from Connie Beck on how to create a verdant, water wise, erosion controlling, low maintenance hillside garden. This addresses a pressing concern for many residents of San Diego County, as our area’s topography is defined by mountains, canyons, hills and valleys. Many residential properties feature banks or hillsides, sometimes large, often steep. Considerations include hardscaping, rainwater capture and retention, and selecting the most appropriate plant palette for our climate. Follow this link to see Connie Beck’s plant suggestions for the ABCs of Hillside Gardening.
